Studio Maab is the creative project of Madison Barnett. Madison is a community taught multi media artist currently based in Northern Colorado. Madison works primarily as a metalsmith, printmaker, and lapidary artist.
As a printmaker, she favors linocut, printing on paper and textiles. Her work in metal is characterized by hand fabricated creations in brass and sterling silver, as well as talismans sculpted in beeswax and cast in bronze and silver.
Madison finds inspiration in the reverence of beloved ecosystems. As a maker, she is driven by the ability of craft to transcend time, as ways of working with hands and artistic inspirations are passed down through centuries of human experience. Her work is influenced by history, the work of ancient craftspeople and devotion to craft itself, as well as mythology, romance, and personal synchronicities.
